May in the garden

May is nearly over and the autumn rains have set in.  The weeds are flourishing and luckily some of the plants along with it!  The peas are starting to yield a few pods for salads along with several types of lettuce and some English spinach. The chillies are dying back now as are lots of the summer vegetables but the winter ones are taking their place.  Some potatoes have popped up out of nowhere, always welcome… I was lucky in the draw at the Herb Society meeting and came home with Thai mint, chives and hot n spicy oregano, all of which have gone in the garden, along with a Hawaiian Guava seedling, borage plants and lemon balm which I couldn’t resist!
